I saw this one in this weeks Simon Teen newsletter and loved the cover. It’s written by L J Smith (The Vampire Diaries) so this is enough to get me excited about it already even though it’s not out until next month.
The Blurb
“It all started with a board game. But what was supposed to be an evening of friends, fun, and games, becomes a night of danger, drama, and obsessive love. Because when Jenny and her friends try to play the Game, it comes to life. Suddenly they are in a dark world where Julian, the gorgeous guy who sold Jenny the game, rules as Prince of the Shadows. Julian is in charge, making their darkest nightmares reality. And he will do anything to claim the beautiful Jenny as his prize. The Game is real, and these friends must play through – and the only way to win is to face their most secret fears. To lose the Game is to lose your life. And that is only the beginning…”

I’ve seen this book on quite a few peoples In My Mailbox’s over the past few weeks and after reading a description which mentions vampires – I want to find out more about the Drake Chronicals series.
The Blurb.
“It has been centuries since Anais St. Croix survived the French Revolution. Now she’s made her way back to the living and must face the ultimate test by confronting the evil British lord who turned her into a vampire and left her buried for two hundred years. That’s if she can control her affection for Logan Drake, a vampire whose bite is as sweet as the revenge she seeks …”

You can find out more about the series including a family tree of the Drakes on the Drake Chronicals website but I found surprisingly no information on this book there?
Blood Fuede is being published by Bloomsbury Publishing on the 5th July 2010.

This book sparked my interest because I’m not aware of any other female werewolf stories and the cover is absolutley gorgeous! From the summary it sounds like a paranormal romance with more to offer besides.
Blurb
“Hanover Falls hasn’t had a werewolf problem in over one hundred years. But when people suddenly start dying in Claire Benoit’s town, panic spreads fast. At Claire’s sixteenth birthday party, the gruesome killings are all anyone can talk about. Claire, however, is more interested in the fact that the gorgeous Matthew Engle keeps chatting and flirting with her as if she’s the only girl there. But that night, she discovers something that takes away all sense of normalcy: she’s a werewolf. As Claire is initiated into the pack of female werewolves, she must deal not only with her changing identity, but also with a rogue werewolf who is putting everyone she knows in danger. Claire’s new life threatens her blossoming romance with Matthew, whose father is leading the werewolf hunt. Now burdened with a dark secret and pushing the boundaries of forbidden love, Claire is struggling to feel comfortable in either skin. With her lupine loyalty at odds with her human heart, she will make a choice that will change her forever…”

I have to say (after finally discovering where Amazon was hiding the list of books to be published) it was the cover that grabbed my attention with this book – I mean just look at it! Then I read the summary and lets just say I want a copy like NOW!
Blurb
“Lavish parties. Passionate meetings in the night. Bone-chilling murders. Exams. The day-to-day life of Schuyler Van Alen and her Blue Bloods friends (and enemies) is never boring. But there’s oh-so-much more to know about the beautiful and powerful Blue Bloods. Below the streets of Manhattan, within the walls of the Repository, lies a wealth of revealing short stories, journal entries, and never-before-seen letters about the vampire elite dating back through time. Won’t you come inside?”
Source: Amazon
There’s only one problem, I can’t find out much more about it, both the author site and Blue Bloods website don’t mention it :s Unless I’m looking in the wrong place.
Keys To The Repository: Blue Bloods by Melissa De la Cruz is published by ATOM on the 29th June 2010. You can find out more about the Blue Bloods series on the official Blue Bloods website.

I found out about Diary Of A Wimpy Vampire this morning from this review over at Jenny’s Wonderous Reads (go check it out) and the summary just made me think this is a book I have got to check out.
The Blurb
“Like Edward Cullen in “Twilight”, Nigel Mullet was transformed into a vampire when he was still a teenager, and will remain this age forever. Unfortunately, Nigel became a vampire at the awkward age of fifteen, and must spend eternity coping with acne, a breaking voice, and an ineptitude with girls . . . In this, his excruciatingly funny diary, Nigel chronicles his increasingly desperate attempts to be noticed by the love of his life, Chloe Sparrow, the constant mortification caused by his vampire parents (not to mention the worry that they might accidentally eat one of his friends), and the frustration one feels when you ve got the whole of boring eternity stretching out in front of you. Fantastically witty and hugely entertaining, it will appeal to any fan of “Twilight” or “Adrian Mole”, teenage or otherwise . . .”

Diary Of A Wimpy Vampire is officially published by Michael O’Mara Books Ltd on the 20th May 2010 but can get yourself a copy now from Amazon.

The Blurb

Mae’s whole world has spun out of control, and it’s only going to get worse. When she realises that Jamie has been meeting secretly with the new leader of the Obsidian Circle and that Gerald wants him to join the magicians, she’s not sure how to stop Jamie doing just that. Calling in Nick and Alan as reinforcements only leads to a more desperate conflict because Gerald has a plan to bring Nick down – by using Alan to spring a deadly trap. With those around her torn between divided loyalties and Mae herself torn between her feelings for two very different boys, she sees a chance to save them all – but it means approaching the mysterious and dangerous Goblin Market alone…”

I’m going to come out and say it – I can’t wait for Wintercraft to come out (and this is only partly based on the gorgeous trailer which you can see here).
The Blurb
“Ten years ago Kate Winters’ parents were taken by the High Council’s wardens to help with the country’s war effort.
Now the wardens are back…and prisoners, including Kate’s uncle Artemis, are taken south on the terrifying Night Train. Kate and her friend Edgar are hunted by a far more dangerous enemy. Silas Dane – the High Council’s most feared man – recognises Kate as one of the Skilled; a rare group of people able to see through the veil between the living and the dead. His spirit was damaged by the High Council’s experiments into the veil, and he’s convinced that Kate can undo the damage and allow him to find peace.
The knowledge Kate needs lies within Wintercraft – a book thought to be hidden deep beneath the graveyard city of Fume. But the Night of Souls, when the veil between life and death is at its thinnest, is just days away and the High Council have their own sinister plans for Kate and Wintercraft.”

You can find out more about Wintercraft on the brand new (just launched) Wintercraft website where you can also download ‘the thrilling first chapter’ (I’m just about to) and enter a competition where you could win a copy of the book.
Wintercraft will be published by Headline on the 13th May 2010.

My Life On TV is the third book in the series My Sister’s A Pop Star series by Kimberly Greene described by the publishers, Usborne Children’s Books as a “fantastically funny third book”.
From the sounds of the blurb from Amazon I’m looking forward to this one which is released later this month.
The Blurb
This is the fantastically funny third title to the “My Sister’s A Pop Star” series, starring straight-talking, super-klutzy Sam. Sam’s life is turned upside down when her pop-star sister Danni Devine announces her decision to move out of their house, and out of the limelight. This means cancelling Danni’s reality TV show, “The Devine Life”, and, since their home is owned by the TV company, Sam and her mum are soon to be made homeless. So when Robert, Danni’s manager, has an idea for a show about a girl at a horse-riding academy with Sam in the starring role, she has some tough choices to make. Watching Danni struggle with the pressures of fame has turned Sam off stardom for life, but with Danni leaving showbiz, who’ll provide for her family? Unfortunately, Sam’s no natural when it comes to performing, especially when she’s acting opposite a truly handsome but horrible co-star. Truth is, Sam’s more into this cute guy, Carlos but he’s so not into celeb-chic and is all about keeping it real. Sam’s torn between following her heart and looking out for her family, but while she tries to work out who she is and what she really wants, the cameras keep rolling…Celebrities and reality TV are the hottest of topics and down-to-earth Sam tells it all, in hilarious style, from the glamour and backstabbing, to the truth behind the scenes.

This was going to be a book video trailer but on my fruitless search for a book trailer I came across Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins and I couldn’t resist.
The Blurb
“In the wake of a love spell gone horribly wrong, Sophie Mercer, a sixteen-year-old witch, is shipped off to Hecate Hall, a boarding school for witches, shapeshifters and faeries. The traumas of mortal high school are nothing compared to the goings on at “Freak High.” It’s bad enough that she has to deal with a trio of mean girls led by the glamorous Elodie, but it’s even worse when she begins to fall for Elodie’s gorgeous boyfriend, Archer Cross, and frankly terrifying that the trio are an extremely powerful coven of dark witches. But when Sophie begins to learn the disturbing truth about her father, she is forced to face demons both metaphorical and real, and come to terms with her own growing power as a witch.”
